Marc Gasol hits game-winner in Memphis over San Antonio Spurs (Video)

With time winding down, Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol hits the biggest shot of his NBA career to beat the San Antonio Spurs in overtime in Game 4.
After dropping the first two games of their playoff series with the San Antonio Spurs on the road, the Memphis Grizzlies were able to win Game 3 on Thursday night at the FedEx Forum, 105-94. That was a great win, but Memphis definitely needed to win Game 4 at home as well to honestly make this a series.
San Antonio was giving the Grizzlies everything they had on Saturday in Game 4, forcing overtime in a big battle between Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley and Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard. Conley would help give the Grizzlies the lead in overtime, only to see Leonard immediately eliminate the deficit on his end of the floor.
With the game tied at 108, Memphis had time for one last possession before having to potentially settle for double overtime. Conley would find his favorite teammate center Marc Gasol. From there, Gasol would hit the biggest shot in Grizzlies basketball history, draining a leaner in the paint with 0.7 seconds left on the clock to win Game 4, 110-108.
The Grit ‘N Grind era of Memphis has continued well into the small ball era of the NBA. This Memphis team has developed a cult following in Southwestern Tennessee for sure. Conley and Gasol are synonymous with the Grit ‘N Grind brand. Both have signed long-term contracts with the Grizzlies organization, so they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.

That being said, Memphis had fallen into the awful middle of the NBA, where it is close to impossible to rebuild. This era of Memphis basketball is beloved by the city. Memphis may not end up beating the Spurs in this best-of-seven, but the city will always have this moment to remember fondly.
