Food City 500 starting grid: Starting lineup for NASCAR from Bristol
Kyle Larson leads the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series field again this weekend. Here’s the starting grid for the Food City 500 from Bristol Motor Speedway.
Another weekend, another Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series pole position for Kyle Larson, who leads the starting grid for Sunday’s Food City 500 from Bristol Motor Speedway. With qualifying cancelled due to rain, Larson assumes the top spot in the lineup due to being the current Cup Series points leader.
That means the rest of the grid is also determined by points standings, putting Chase Elliott right alongside Larson on the front row. A pack of wily veterans remains behind them waiting for their chance to pounce, including Martin Truex Jr., both Team Penske entries and former champion Kyle Busch.
But some folks are probably wishing that they’d had a chance to qualify given how the default order has them sitting in the back of the pack. Danica Patrick will roll off 29th at Bristol, while Matt Kenseth is 22nd. Right behind him is Daniel Suarez, who will have a lot of work to do if he wants to return the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing entry to Victory Lane for the second year in a row.
