Real Madrid vs. Barcelona live stream: Watch La Liga online
Real Madrid face Barcelona at the Bernabeu on Sunday, April 23. Here’s all the info you need to watch the latest iteration of El Clasico.
This past week Real Madrid and Barcelona’s European paths diverged. Real Madrid are through to the Champions League semifinals after readily handling Bayern Munich in their quarterfinal tie while Barcelona crashed out after failing to score a single goal against Juventus in their quarterfinal matchup.
After a few days’ rest the two Spanish giants meet in what is the biggest rivalry in world soccer on Sunday: El Clasico. Real, possessing a game in hand, lead Barca by three points atop the La Liga table. They also have the advantage of playing at home in the showdown.
On top of their morale-sapping midweek defeat to Juve, Barcelona also have to face the leaders without the services of Neymar. The club appealed his three-game suspension, which he received after mocking the referee back on April 8, but the Spanish federation has rejected the effort. At a time when Barca need every possible advantage in order to contend for the league title, this comes as a huge blow.
The clash at the Bernabeu will probably decide whether the race for the La Liga title will be a tight one or not. If Barcelona win or draw, they will still feel they can chase down their rivals. Should Real Madrid take all three points, it’s hard to see how they fail to lift the trophy.
