All signs pointed towards Marshawn Lynch joining the Oakland Raiders for the 2017 NFL season, but the team would like to know prior to the NFL Draft.

The marriage between Marshawn Lynch and the Oakland Raiders for the 2017 NFL season seemed like a formality last week, but now it appears that it is up in the air. The Raiders would like to know Lynch’s plans prior to the 2017 NFL Draft, where some believe they will select a running back in the first round. Lynch is from Oakland, and the Raiders need a starting running back after Latavius Murray signed with the Minnesota Vikings this offseason.

Staying in the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs continue to say goodbye to their defensive linemen. After losing star nose tackle Dontari Poe to the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, the Chiefs released another big man on their defensive line, as Jaye Howard will now be looking for another team. The Chiefs are the favorite to repeat in a very tough division in 2017, but it will be interesting to see how they replace both Poe and Howard.

Glen Coffee once was an NFL running back, but lost the love for the game during his time in college. After one year with the San Francisco 49ers, Coffee left the NFL, joining Army School and fighting for our country. It appears he is ready to strap the pads back on, and at 29 years old, there is no reason why he does not have a couple of good seasons left in him.

The New England Patriots have had a dominating offseason, and should head into the 2017 NFL season as the frontrunner to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl once again. As they look towards the NFL Draft, and their lack of a first round pick, many assumed they would trade backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for some draft picks. However, the team wants to hang on to the signal-caller, though things can certainly change between now and Thursday night.

Finally, with the NFL Draft taking place this week, it is no time for any draft prospects to get in trouble. Caleb Brantley did more than just get in trouble this weekend, as he was charged with allegedly punching a woman at a bar. Brantley is expected to be drafted in the first or second round this Thursday, but after this latest incident, it is anybody’s guess as to whether not a team will go near him now.
