Kyle Walker will reassess his future with Tottenham this summer as he mulls over interest from multiple other teams.

Kyle Walker will make a decision on his future with Tottenham this summer, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.

The 26-year-old right-back has been with Tottenham since 2009, spending his first three seasons on loan with several other clubs in England. Walker has garnered interest from both Manchester clubs, Law reports, as well as german juggernaut Bayern Munich. This is high praise for Walker, who’s possibly being eyed as the replacement for Bayern legend Philipp Lahm.

Walker’s apparent uncertainty could be a result of several different issues. Walker was apparently unhappy about missing out on the FA Cup semifinal against Chelsea. Kieran Trippier was chosen ahead of him in Mauricio Pochettino’s 3-4-3, though it’s possible the Argentine simply wanted to rest his starting right-back for the Premier League, where Spurs now trail Chelsea by only four points.

In addition to losing playing time, Walker is making less than £70,000 a week with Tottenham. With his type of talent, he could be making a lot more at a club like Bayern or Manchester United.

Walker owes a lot to Tottenham, and Pochettino in particular, but he wouldn’t be the first player to leave the club that gave him his break in search of more money. Tottenham may have raised their level on the pitch the last couple of seasons, but they simply can’t compete financially with the Manchester clubs or Bayern.

Walker has been very good again for Tottenham this season, and was named to the Premier League Team of the Year last week. He’s a competent defender and is a big threat going forward with his pace. Tottenham will surely kick themselves if they lose out on a player of Walker’s caliber.
