Chelsea face Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, April 25. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Chelsea have been a dominant Premier League side for much of the 2016-17 campaign. However, with a chance to clinch the table early down the stretch, they’ve faltered a bit. They’ve lost two of their last four Premier League games and their lead has shrunk to four points. Thus, taking on Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, April 25 will be a huge fixture for the Blues.
This match in London comes after Chelsea vs Southampton was postponed due to the the former’s FA Cup semifinal match. Even with Eden Hazard coming off of the bench, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea looked in form in that match. Willian came up huge and may do so again as the manger is still riding Hazard’s commitment to the club hard. It wouldn’t hurt the cause either if the good version of Diego Costa would service. However, no player has been as important as N’Golo Kante, who will be pivotal in the middle of the field as always.
Meanwhile, Southampton have been nothing spectacular this season, but have been predictably solid. Charlie Austin has found net for them a good number of times, but Nathan Redmond and Dusan Tadic’s play has been superb in the midfield. Contending with Chelsea’s midfield is another beast entirely, but they could be up to the task on the road for Tuesday’s match.

With their recent form in Premier League play, Chelsea are on the verge of making a race at the top of the table. That’s far from what they’d want, though, so they’ll need to be better to rectify that. Holding court at Stamford Bridge against Southampton would go a long way in helping the cause.
