LeBron James took a moment to wish Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr a speedy recovery.

Early Monday morning, Cleveland Cavaliers’ star forward LeBron James took some time to send his “thoughts and prayers” to Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

Kerr announced on Sunday that he will be, at the very least, sitting out the rest of the first round series as symptoms from a previous back injury are flaring up.

In 2015, the Warriors head coach took an indefinite leave of absence to rehab back surgery he had in that offseason. The symptoms lingered after the procedure but allowed him to resume coaching. However, his condition got worse this past week and it forced him to sit in discomfort in Game 2 of the first round against the Portland Trailblazers, and eventually forced him to sit out of Game 3 and 4.

”This is something I’ve been dealing with but doing OK. Ups and downs but consistently coaching. This past week for whatever reason, things got worse. My symptoms got worse,” he told The Associated Press on Sunday.

James, who averaged 32.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 9.0 assists, in the first round, also talked about his opponents in this series. He thanked Paul George and the Indiana Pacers (who the Cavs beat 4-0) for the competitive series.

In Kerr’s absence, assistant Mike Brown will take over the head coaching duties. Brown is a first-year assistant with the Warriors but is more than capable of handling the main coaching role as he was the Cavaliers’ head coach from 2005-10, and again in 2013-14, and the Los Angeles Lakers’ head coach from 2011-12.

Let’s all follow in James’ footsteps and wish Steve Kerr a speedy recovery.
