Russell Westbrook avoids postgame handshakes after Game 5 loss (Video)

After the Oklahoma City Thunder were eliminated from the playoffs on Tuesday night, Russell Westbrook went to the locker room avoiding postgame handshakes.
Russell Westbrook was not interested in any post game handshakes after the Houston Rockets eliminated the Thunder from the playoffs Tuesday evening.
There had been some chipping between both teams during this series, including tonight when Westbrook and Rockets’ guard Patrick Beverley exchanged some words. It’s understandable as emotions are usually running high during the NBA playoffs, especially in an elimination game as tonight was for the Thunder.
Westbrook and James Harden are the two favorites to win the MVP award this season, and although Westbrook outplayed Harden during the series, Harden’s team got the best of Westbrook’s. Westbrook averaged an incredible 37.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 10.8 assists during the five-game series against the Rockets.
Night in and night out Westbrook gave it his all and put up gaudy stat lines in the process, but just couldn’t get much help from his teammates to be able to close out games. To look at his impact on his team, here is a stat that stands out from tonight’s game:

Westbrook showcased one of the best seasons to date in NBA history, as he became only the second player in the history of the league to average a triple-double over the course of a season next to Oscar Robertson. Westbrook also broke Robertson’s record of the most triple doubles in a season by recording 42 during his amazing campaign.
The NBA awards will be held on June 26, and we will find out who takes home the MVP crown.
