The NFL Draft begins Thursday night with the Cleveland Browns having the top overall pick, a pick one exec says they already have made in their minds.

In just one day, the 2017 NFL Draft will get underway when the Cleveland Browns, for ironically just the third time in the last 63 drafts and the first time since 2000 despite all their recent woes, will step up and announce who will be the next “lucky” person to put on the orange and brown and become member of the organization.

While the team has not publicly announced who they will be taking first overall — despite league rules which allow them to negotiate and announce the pick before Thursday if they want — a report by one NFL Network reporter on NFL.com says that team general manager Sashi Brown knows something we all don’t know:

"The Browns have made their decision on the No. 1 selection, NFL Network’s Michael Silver reported Wednesday on Up to the Minute Live. Brown told Silver the club settled on its choice two weeks ago, and that “only three or four people in the world,” know who it will be."

Silver went on to say that the Browns would like to draft former Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett first overall and then work out some way to move up from the 12th overall pick, acquired last year from the Philadelphia Eagles so that team could draft Carson Wentz, so they could get their own quarterback in former North Carolina signal caller Mitchell Trubisky.

The last couple times the Browns had the first overall pick, they actually drafted players in those same positions by taking QB Tim Couch (1999) and DE Courtney Brown (2000). The cold reality is that, even if they can move up and get both players they want, the Browns need more than just the 11 picks they will have in this year’s NFL Draft.

We will find out what Brown and the … Browns are going to do with that top pick come Thursday night shortly after 8 p.m. ET.
