The 2017 NFL Draft will begin with round one action on Thursday, April 27. Here is when you can expect the action to start.

The first step on every NFL players journey is the NFL Draft, which will kick off on Thursday, April 27. The draft will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania this year, as Chicago only got a one-year run as the host city. The City of Brotherly Love actually hosted the first NFL Draft, but that was way back in 1936 inside the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Myles Garrett of Texas A&M is the consensus choice to be the first player selected on Thursday, but like any draft, it is really anybody’s guess as to who the pick will actually be. There is a ton of talent defensive players in this draft, which is one of the deepest classes we have seen in years. Last year, the Los Angeles Rams traded the farm for the rights to the first pick in the draft, which they used to selected Jared Goff out of Cal.

With the second pick, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Carson Wentz, who went on to start 16 games for the team as a rookie in 2016. The Eagles were not supposed to pick in the first round this year due to the trade to get the No. 2 pick last year, but an injury to Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater led to the hometown team getting the No. 14 pick in 2017. The Eagles are in desperate need for a running back, and there are at least three legitimate first round backs in this draft.

The first round action will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET, and the Cleveland Browns will be on the clock. The Browns will pick twice in the first round, with their second pick coming at No. 12. There has been plenty of buildup to the draft, and it will be interesting to see what the Browns do with their two high picks on Thursday night.

The NFL Draft is always one of the more exciting nights of the offseason in the NFL, and Philadelphia is certain to do a nice job putting the event on. You can expect NFL commisioner Roger Goodell to be booed mercilessly, and there to be at least a few head-scratching picks throughout round one. The action will continue on Friday with second and third round action, with the final four rounds playing out on Saturday.
