The Jacksonville Jaguars have seven picks in the 2017 NFL Draft. When do they pick?

It’s been a banner offseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They struck gold repeatedly in free agency with key acquisitions, shelling out big bucks for the best players on the market. Combine that with a solid core of young talent and this is a team worth keeping an eye on.

Buehler…Buehler…

No, we are not simply rerunning last year’s text regarding the Jags. It just seems like we say the same thing over and over about a team that has lost 11 or more games six straight seasons and hasn’t been to the postseason since 2007.

A year ago, Gus Bradley didn’t make it through the season and Doug Marrone was named interim head coach. Now the one-time sideline leader of the Buffalo Bills has the job full time. And he also has Tom Coughlin’s support from the front office. Now they must once again hit a home run in this month’s draft.

Here are their 2017 NFL Draft picks:

Round 1 – 4th overall
Round 2 – 35th overall
Round 3 – 68th overall
Round 4 – 110th overall
Round 5 – 148th overall
Round 6 – 187th overall
Round 7 – 222nd overall

For those who don’t recall, Coughlin was the franchise’s first head coach when the Jaguars entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1995. He would lead the team to four straight playoff appearances from 1996-99 and got the club within one win of the Super Bowl on two occasions. Now he returns to Jacksonville with a pair of NFL titles on his resume courtesy of his 12-year stint with the New York Giants.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a combined 42-102 dating back to 2008 and have missed the playoffs nine consecutive years. They have one pick in each of the draft’s seven rounds. And they must find the right combination soon if they are going to get back into contention in the AFC South.
