The New York Jets have seven draft picks in the 2017 NFL Draft. Here’s an updated draft order for them.

After nearly making the postseason in 2015, the New York Jets were expected to contend for a playoff spot in 2016. However, their plan backfired, as they finished with a 5-11 record. This put them in last place in the AFC East. On the bright side, the Jets will have the sixth overall pick at the NFL Draft. Their rebuild could use an infusion of talent and the Gang Green are in a nice position to add talent. However, they only have seven total draft picks, which isn’t ideal for a rebuilding club.

The Jets need help all over the field, but their biggest needs are on offense. They lack skill players, especially with the departure of Brandon Marshall. The health of Eric Decker is unknown, but even if he’s healthy, the Jets need more help at receiver.

However, they also have a lot of needs on the defensive side of the ball. Their secondary was pathetic in 2016. Without Darrelle Revis, the Jets must find a new starting corner. Luckily, this draft is deep with cornerbacks. Here’s an updated draft order for them.

Round 1 – 6th overall
Round 2 – 39th overall
Round 3 – 70th overall
Round 3 – 107th overall
Round 5 – 150th overall
Round 6 – 191st overall
Round 7 – 224th overall

Expect the Jets to address their secondary early on as well as their receivers. They’ll also need to add depth all over the field. The Jets also lack a franchise quarterback, so don’t be surprised to see them pick one early. They also need to address their lack of running back depth, which they could address early as well.
