The Tennessee Titans have eight picks in the 2017 NFL Draft. When do they pick?

Simply put, general manager Jon Robinson and the Tennessee Titans have a golden opportunity in front of them. Now it’s a matter of making the most of some high draft choices at their disposal.

Thanks to last year’s deal with the Los Angeles Rams, the much-improved Titans own the fifth overall pick on April 27. Combined with their own original selection at No. 18 and two selections in the third-round, this surging squad could be challenging for a playoff spot and/or an AFC South title. It’s something this franchise hasn’t managed to do since the 2008 season.

Let’s not forget how far this team came a year ago. A Tennessee team that won a combined five games from 2014-15 nearly that doubled that total (9), equaling the same number of victories as the division champion Houston Texans this past season. The Titans must do a better job within the division. In ’16, they were 2-4 vs. the AFC South and 7-3 vs. the rest of the NFL. And that means hopefully capitalizing on having four of the top 100 selections this year.

Here are their 2017 NFL Draft picks:

Round 1 – 5th overall
Round 1 – 18th overall
Round 3 – 83rd overall
Round 3 – 100th overall
Round 4 – 125th overall
Round 5 – 164th overall
Round 6 – 214th overall
Round 7 – 236th overall

It’s been a very productive offseason for this team. Mularkey’s squad had some needs on the defensive side of the ball and Robinson responded by adding the likes of strong safety Jonathan Cyprien, cornerback Logan Ryan and nose tackle Sylvester Williams.

It’s going to be very interesting to see what direction the Tennessee Titans point toward in the first round of the draft. A game-breaker on defense could elevate Dick LeBeau’s unit in a big way. And combined with the team’s balanced offense, Mularkey and company could really open some eyes this fall.
