Chicago Bears fans weren’t quite sure how to react after the team traded up to select North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
The 2017 NFL Draft was supposed to be one filled with surprises and plenty of shocking decisions. Well, the draft didn’t waste any time getting to that point on Thursday night. After the Cleveland Browns were done with their pick, the San Francisco 49ers traded the No. 2 pick to the Chicago Bears. The Bears would shock everyone and select Mitchell Trubisky.
It caught everyone completely off guard as quarterback hasn’t been as linked to the team since they signed Mike Glennon in free agency. Nonetheless, the Bears took Trubisky to the shock of absolutely everyone. Even those in Chicago watching the draft weren’t sure how to react.
You could almost hear a pin drop as the pick was announced. The fans watching live weren’t quite sure what to do and some were optimistic and liked the pick, while others were visibly upset over it.

For as much as the Bears gave up to move just one spot, they are going all in on the hopes that Trubsiky is the future savior of the franchise. No one was expecting the Bears of all teams to be the one to make this move.
It’s also an interesting decision considering they just signed Glennon. It would signal that his deal is likely isn’t going to last long as the team will have to transition to their new quarterback eventually. It’s plenty to take in and Bears fans certainly are conflicted.
