The Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins begin their long anticipated second round series on Thursday, April 27. Here’s how you can watch.

For the second consecutive postseason, the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins will face each other in the second round. This is also the third time Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby have led their teams into battle against each other. The first two times, the latter has won and went on to win the Stanley Cup. This time around, Washington hopes to flip the table. The game will be held at the Verizon Center and starts at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Ovechkin will lead his Caps into the series after beating the Toronto Maple Leafs in six games in the first round. This could be a legacy defining series for both Washington and its captain. They’ve been very successful in the regular season, but have never gotten past the Penguins in the playoffs. But this year, Washington has the best team it’s ever had.

On the opposite end of the ice, the Penguins will look to continue their Stanley Cup run despite losing Kris Letang before the playoffs. Marc-Andre Fleury did a great job filling in for Matt Murray, who is out indefinitely due to a lower body injury. Evgeni Malkin was the star of their first round win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, notching 11 points in five games.

Both teams should come out strong. The Caps are the slight favorites in the series, but the Penguins should give them a heck of a battle. Perhaps no rivalry in the NHL matches the energy of this one.
