Garett Bolles put offensive linemen on the map by bringing his newborn to the NFL Draft and recreating the Lion King pose on stage.

Offensive linemen aren’t very sexy, and never get the due credit that they deserve. Their job is usually to block for the more flashy quarterback or running back on their team.

That spilled over into the 2017 NFL Draft. Despite being one of the best defensive classes in years, teams went offense-heavy in the early going. But even so, an offensive lineman didn’t get selected until the Denver Broncos took Garett Bolles 20th overall. But he made sure it was a draft to remember when he brought out his fourth month old child:

It was a great moment, but I think he forgot that children can’t develop memories until they’re four years old:

The Broncos should love this pick. They’re all sorted out on defense, having won their last Super Bowl based on it, but their offensive line needed help after Russell Okung left. Obviously, their pursuit of Tony Romo in the offseason was all for naught, so they need a sturdy o-line to keep Trevor Siemian, or Paxton Lynch, up right.

As for Bolles, he must’ve heard that Jon Favreau is doing a live-action reboot of The Lion King, and did that to lobby for a role in it. The Broncos have a knack for creating memorable moments in the NFL Draft. Last year, they brought out a kid from the Make-a-Wish Foundation to announce their Lynch pick, so to have their draft pick to this was extra special.

If Bolles plays well for the Broncos, and helps get them back to the playoffs next season, he’ll no doubt help offensive linemen everywhere become more popular.
