With the fifth-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Corey Davis out of the University of Western Michigan.

Davis wasn’t seen much by the casual fan throughout his stellar four-year career with Western Michigan, but he’s deserving of all the hype surrounding him. The 6-foot-3, 209-pound receiver was dominant against admittedly inferior competition, racking up 97 catches for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns in his senior season.

However, Davis is far from a one-year wonder. The Broncos’ best player has been a starter since coming in as a freshman, amassing 941 yards in his initial campaign. The following season saw Davis rack up 1,408 yards and 15 touchdowns, putting the rest of the MAC on notice. Last year, Davis was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Considering his speed and size, there is not much to truly ding Davis on. If there is anything to hold against the Illinois native, it might be the MAC. What would have numbers have been if he played against teams in the SEC and Big Ten on a weekly basis? The guess here? Still pretty damn good.

Look for Davis to start immediately on the outside, becoming an instant threat on both quick-hitters and deep routes. For any quarterback, Davis is a Christmas gift come early with his physical traits and body frame.

The Titans are giving Marcus Mariota the best receiving prospect in the draft, making the Hawaiian very happy. Tennessee should absolutely be challenging for a playoff berth next year.
