Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees crushed the hardest-hit ball in the StatCast Era. It was the outfielder’s second home run of the night.

There is hitting a home run, and then there is crushing a ball. After crushing, there is obliterating. New York Yankees’ right fielder Aaron Judge obliterated an offering from Kevin Gausman, the starting pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles. Justice was served.

Not only did he hit it over the centerfield wall of Yankee Stadium, the ball traveled passed the legendary Monument Park. It was his second home run of the night, tying him for the American League lead with Khris Davis of the Oakland Athletics. Both players have nine home runs.

What makes this massive blow monumental in its own right is the exit velocity. According to StatCast, the ball travelled at 119.6 MPH off of Judge’s bat. That speed broke the former record of 119.4 MPH by Florida Marlin’s outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.

Judge keeps holding court. According to ESPN’s Stats and Info, this home run moved Judge into the Yankee record books.

The Yankees have found their new slugger. The way Aaron Judge is mashing the ball, 35 or more home runs for the season becomes more realistic.

The team is going to need every one of them to keep pace with their opponent tonight. Even with the two home runs, Baltimore leads the game and the division. Judge will keep the Yankees close.
