With the 46th-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected cornerback Quincy Wilson out of the University of Florida.
Wilson had a terrific offseason, rising up the boards of many teams quickly after blowing through the pre-draft process with ease. Wilson was one of the better defensive backs in the SEC, which is saying something when you consider that Tre’Davious White, Marlon Humphrey and Jamal Adams were all considered first-round talents.
The former Gators star was decent at the combine, running a respectable 4.54 40-yard dash while clocking in with 14 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. However, his measurables in terms of size make him very enticing. Wilson weighs 211 pounds, giving him the weight of some safeties in the league.
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 211
40-time: 4.54
Bench: 14 reps
Vertical: 32”
Broad: 118”
3-cone: 6.86
If you are into comparisons, think about Sean Smith. He’s not going to beat many receivers in a footrace, but he can re-route them with his strength and technique. He’s going to be a really good fit on the outside, while the slot probably wouldn’t suit his skill set.

Wilson projects to start from Week 1, and maybe help on special teams as well. He’s the perfect example of a player who can rise through good interviews and showings, as he was originally thought by many to be behind fellow Florida corner Teez Tabor on draft boards. Instead, Tabor appears ticketed for the third round or later, while Wilson was a top target.
