Ducks vs. Oilers: Game 2 prediction
The Ducks and the Oilers put on a scoring clinic in Game 1, and their second matchup should give fans even more to cheer about.
The Edmonton Oilers may have been dominant in their opening round win over the San Jose Sharks last round, but their performance in Game 1 against the Anaheim Ducks put the world on notice.
The two teams went back and forth rapidly with the scoring in their first game in Anaheim, with the Oilers gaining the edge in the series with a 5-3 win on the road.
Both teams exhibited fast-paced play and scored rapidly, as the Oilers scored two goals in 100 seconds early in the third period, and the Ducks bounced back with two of their own just 85 seconds apart to tie the game. In just the third period alone, both teams accounted for six total goals, with one being an empty-netter late in regulation.
While the Oilers proved that they can still score and compete with the best the Western Conference has to offer, the Ducks proved just how resilient they really are. Their ability to come back from their two-goal deficit in the third as quickly as they did shows just how back and forth this series will be, and shows they won’t be down on themselves in any situation.

Prediction: Ducks 4, Oilers 3
It seems like goaltending just won’t even be a factor in this series, as Anaheim’s John Gibson and Edmonton’s Cam Talbot put on poor performances in net in Game 1. I feel that both of these offenses are just too powerful for their opponent’s defenses, and scoring will be the main draw in this series between two fast-paced teams. For Game 2, I think the Ducks will show their resolve like they did late in Game 1, and will utilize the energy of the home crowd to even the series at one game a piece.
