Hull: Andy Robertson

It’s no surprise Hull are currently in the middle of a relegation battle. When the Tigers came up from the Championship last season many could have predicted they would be struggling by this time of year. They were dealt a blow when Steve Bruce left as manager despite guiding them to promotion. This left Mike Phelan as head coach and he didn’t make the appropriate additions to make Hull a strong enough Premier League side.

Marco Silva has come in as manager and done a great job with the Tigers, although it’s still touch and go as to whether they will stay up or not. Out of the Hull team one of the standout performers throughout the season has been left-back Andy Robertson. The Scotland international has now played with the club for three seasons and in each campaign he’s become more assured defensively.

His best attribute is still his ability to get forward and play dangerous balls into the box but the improvement in the defensive side of his game could prove to be an important factor in Hull staying up this year. However, Robertson is definitely now a Premier League-calibre player so even if they go down expect to see him next season. Both Manchester United and Manchester City could do with a more consistent left-back and Robertson could develop into a great player at either of these clubs.
