Leicester: Marc Albrighton

Leicester’s season has had highs and lows and as expected they haven’t managed to replicate the form that brought them the title last season. Their league campaign this year has showed that what they achieved was nothing short of miraculous and that the players at Claudio Ranieri’s disposal were playing above their potential.

Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante stole all the headlines for the Foxes that year and while Kante left for Chelsea, Vardy and Mahrez have struggled to replicate their form of last year. One player who has consistently performed throughout both campaigns is Marc Albrighton. The understated winger has provided constant support to his forwards with telling through balls and accurate crosses. He also scored crucial goals for Leicester in their impressive Champions League run this season.

The way Albrighton goes about his game is the reason that many fail to take notice of the noticeable impact he makes on his side. He doesn’t do anything flashy, he works tirelessly and he embodies the team spirit that made Leicester so successful last season. All of these things combine to make him a very solid player who can comfortably compliment those with greater ability.
