Helio Castroneves put Team Penske up front for the fourth straight Verizon IndyCar Series race. Here are the qualifying results for the Phoenix Grand Prix.

Team Penske’s domination of Verizon IndyCar Series qualifying sessions continued on Friday night as Helio Castroneves captured the Verizon P1 Award for the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix.

Castroneves came in front of his teammate Will Power. The two have alternated pole positions through the first four races of the 2017 IndyCar season, with Power taking the first spot in the races at St. Petersburg and Alabama, and Castroneves on pole in Long Beach and now at Phoenix.

Once again, Team Penske captured four of the Top 5 spots. The only non-Penske driver to start in the Top 5 is Ed Carpenter Racing’s JR Hildebrand, who returned to the track after missing last week’s race due to a hand injury. Hildebrand was the biggest surprise of Friday’s qualifying session by finishing in third place, ahead of his former teammate Josef Newgarden.

Some major names did not have good runs. Hildebrand’s teammate Ed Carpenter, in his first race of the year, will start last on Saturday night. Graham Rahal also endured a rough qualifying to wind up 17th.
