Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, Ciara, welcomed a daughter into the world on April 28.
Oh baby! On Friday night, the Super Bowl winning quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson added a new title to his list. Dad. Wilson and his wife, R&B superstar Ciara, welcomed a daughter into the world. The announcement was made via Ciara’s Instagram account.
Wilson and Ciara were married on July 6, 2016, with news of their expecting a child coming in October of the same year. Wilson spoke with ESPN about the couple expecting during the season last year.
"It’s obviously an exciting thing. Obviously for me and C, it’s exciting. It’s a blessing. That’s for sure. And to have a child is an amazing, probably the biggest miracle there is in the world, so I’m excited about that."
While certainly not the first sports superstar to have a child, Wilson marriage to a working music star makes things interesting. The long season ahead, with OTA’s and training camp to come, will take a lot of time away from family. I am not saying this will have a negative impact on his performance or his personal life, but finding that life balance will be tricky.
That stated, Wilson is a mentally tough athlete, able to stay calm and make proper decisions in rough situations. He just needs to have vision, purpose, and execute those ideals daily.
