Joey Logano started last and finished first in an incredible performance at the 2017 Toyota Owners 400 on Sunday.

Despite having to start at the back of the pack at the 2017 Toyota Owners 400 on Sunday, it didn’t phase Joey Logano at all. Having to change out his transmission, Logano was given a huge obstacle at Richmond, but made sure to save his best driving for the end.

Richmond always tends to have the most interesting results and the course of the day shifted dramatically. Matt Kenseth was the lead horse early and it looked like it was going to his day and a day for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Instead, Kenseth had issues late and cut a tire, while Kyle Busch was the recipient of a penalty down pit road. As Stage 2 completed, it was Team Penske that took command. Brad Keselowski took the last stage win and he really set the pace for the final laps.

As a late caution came out, Keselowski was good but not great in the long stretches and that’s where Logano was able to hold off his teammate to pick up the win. It was Logano’s 18th win in his career and a banner day for Penske Racing.
