Draymond Green revealed that the Golden State Warriors are not really anticipating Steve Kerr to return for the remainder of their playoffs run

The Golden State Warriors thus far in these NBA Playoffs look poised to make another run to the NBA Finals. However, there has been an integral piece of the team missing lately, that piece being head coach Steve Kerr. Kerr has been off the bench since Game 3 of their first-round series against the Blazers, as he continues to deal with medical issues stemming from his back surgery two years ago.

This situation of course has led many to speculate whether or not we could even see Kerr again on the bench for the remainder of the playoffs, and if you were to ask the team, they may seem to know the answer.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, star forward Draymond Green told the media that the team is preparing for the rest of the run as if Kerr will not be the one leading them.

“I think the way we look at it is plan on him (Kerr) not coming back,” Green said, via CSN Bay Area. “That’s the way we’re approaching this thing … Mike Brown is our coach, we have the rest of our staff, and that’s who we’re rolling with.”

As Green stated above, assistant coach Mike Brown has been the leading man on the bench for the Warriors in the absence of Kerr.

When it comes down to it, the health of Kerr is top priority, as it seems he’s not doing so well battling these issues. And while it would be odd to see a team win the NBA title without the services of the coach who’s led them to one already, if there is a group of guys who could pull something like that off, it’s most certainly this star-studded Warriors team.

Best wishes, again, to Kerr on a speedy recovery, and maybe even proving his forward wrong in the near future.
