Kyrie Irving throws an alley oop off the backboard to fellow teammate LeBron James for an incredible slam.

The Cleveland Cavaliers did not come to play. What I will NOT  say is they came to “slay” (shoutout to Beyoncé), but you get the gist; the Cavaliers are truly defending their title this year. LeBron James knows the playoff grind is a different animal. This is why he came to Cleveland so that he can bring the winning ways of Pat Riley to the organization.

James has helped elevate the play of Kevin Love (defensively) and Kyrie Irving (offensively) in the playoffs. But it’s the latter player that has truly been a testament to James’ leadership. Irving has blossomed from great player on a bad team to one of the best in the business.

Below, Irving further validated that claim with an incredible alley oop to James. The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently facing the Toronto Raptors in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. This play below, though, shows which team knows what it takes to win.

Monster yam. But another important aspect of this play? Shows the chemistry and awareness of the two superstar players. Lebron James has become famous for being in the right state of mind before the playoffs. James usually disassociates from social media, electing to focus primarily on task at hand. Plays like the one shown above could be a beneficiary of James and his mentality for the playoffs.

The playoffs are an intense grind but plays like this gives teams the edge. For the Cavs, they already have an edge with Irving, James and Love in tow. But as aforementioned, chemistry is just as important. Besides, who ever said James was going to be on the decline? With dunks like this, we may not see it anytime soon.
