Browns won’t force DeShone Kizer to start

According to executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown, the Cleveland Browns won’t rush DeShone Kizer into action next season.
The Cleveland Browns stayed patient in this year’s NFL draft and waited until the second round to take quarterback Deshone Kizer out of Notre Dame.
In an interview with 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland executive vice president of football operations, Sashi Brown, said that the Browns will not rush Kizer into action next season.
"“Ideally we’d be able to come in and give DeShone some time and again, Hue (Jackson) talked about this. .. making sure he understands that he doesn’t feel like he has to have the pressure on him to be the week one starter or even the 2017 starter at some point. We like Cody, we like Brock, we like Kevin and he doesn’t need to feel that pressure.”"
This does not mean that he will not see the field next season if he is the most suitable to win football games, however they are not just going to throw him out there because they used a high draft pick on him. The Browns will have a four-way quarterback competition going into camp this year between Cody Kessler, Brock Osweiler, Kevin Hogan, and DeShone Kizer.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter the Browns continued to try to trade for the Patriots’ Jimmy Garoppolo throughout the NFL draft but were turned down. Further, Brown made it clear that the Browns are not settled on their long-term quarterback situation just yet.
"“We won’t rest until we solidify that position. It’s not solidified right now, so we know we need the guys here to work their tails off, and Hue is going to develop them as much as possible and push them to be their best and we also know that until we get it solidified, we’re going to continue looking for players all over the league and in college.”"

Kizer, who turned 21 years old in January, likely is not ready to take snaps in the NFL just yet so it could help him to not start right away and learn from the quarterbacks on the roster already, no matter how sub-par they may be.
People forget, Hue Jackson won a playoff game with A.J. McCarron before the Bengals’ went full Bengals’ and blew it. If there is a coach in the league to trust with a young quarterback, Jackson is as good as any.
