Exclusively from IGN, they have officially revealed Darksiders 3 with a new trailer. Things seem to be different with this game, including who you’ll play as.

If we’re being honest, we weren’t expecting a third installment to the Darksiders series. But, it isn’t very surprising. Darksiders III is another game that we could look forward to in 2018. IGN officially announced the game with new details and an awesome trailer.

As of right now, details are still very minimal. We do know enough so far, though, and it all sounds very promising. Vigil Games was the original developer for the series. Gunfire Games has taken the helm for development now. In reality, it’s still the same people since this new team consists of former Vigil Games members. It’s definitely in the right hands and it’s encouraging to know that they still have a story to tell with this series.

When it comes to plot details, we’ll be playing as a new character named Fury. She will be the protagonist and she is the sister of the Four Horsemen from the previous games. In similar fashion to prior games in the series, you’ll tackle various puzzles and it will be very action-packed. This game will be open-world as well.

IGN also revealed some plot details, which you can check out here:

"It’s set around the same time as the events of Darksiders 2, which was released almost five years ago, and will follow Fury’s quest to destroy unique physical versions of the Seven Deadly Sins."

One thing we know for sure is that the premise of this series has always been intriguing. We’re sure they’re going to deliver yet another interesting game that will keep up attached to the characters and the story from beginning to end. Plus, the hack-and-slash style of gameplay is always fun.

We’re expecting hear a bit more at E3 2017.
