As movie fans descend on theaters this weekend to see Marvel‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, there are certainly no shortage of options for how to catch the next adventures of Star-Lord and his merry band of galactic adventurers, but is one of them 3D?
Is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 3D? Marvel is indeed giving the film a 3D release — both in standard digital 3D and in IMAX 3D. You can purchase tickets for both the digital 3D and IMAX 3D versions of the film through Fandango.
Remember that advance screenings start as early as 7 p.m. Thursday in some areas, so be sure to check Thursday listings to find out if you can be one of the first to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 3D in your area. The film officially opens on Friday, May 5.
It’s no surprise that the movie is getting a 3D release considering that it’s everything fans would want from a 3D film. The sequel is packed full with space battles, aliens, special effects and a baby Groot. Who wouldn’t want to have a 3D version of Baby Groot reaching out to give them a hug? Or have to dodge spaceship fire for more than two hours?
Okay, maybe not that last one so much, but this movie practically demands to be shown in 3D. Marvel will be hoping to take fans on another spectacular adventure this weekend, and having it available in 3D and IMAX 3D will only heighten the experience.
