Jamaal Charles will stay in the AFC West for the 2017 NFL season, but this time, he will be running the ball for the Denver Broncos.

Jamaal Charles was once the franchise player of the Kansas City Chiefs, proving to be one of the more explosive players in the NFL. In 2017, Charles will get to play those Chiefs twice, as he signed a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos on Tuesday. The 31-year old Charles is coming off some knee injuries, and it will be interesting to see if he still has the same juice he had when he played for Kansas City.

Staying in the AFC, it looks like Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins will be playing the final year of his rookie contract in 2017. Two days after the team fired general manager Doug Whaley, the team made the decision to not pick up the fifth-year option on the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Watkins has shown flashes of brilliance during his time with the Bills but has also been bitten by the injury bug, and is just not a consistent player at this time in his career.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has had his fair share of issues during his time with the team, but he appears to be trending in the right direction. Bucs general manager Jason Licht said that this is as good as he has ever seen Martin, who has rushed for over 1,400 yards on two occasions during his career. Tampa Bay is expected to be in the running for a playoff spot in 2017, and with a motivated Martin in the fold, they just may be the class of a strong NFC South division.

Gareon Conley was selected with the No. 24 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, as the Oakland Raiders added the former Ohio State Buckeye to their secondary. Conley was a controversial pick, however, as he was accused of rape in the days leading up to the draft. He has already met with police about the incident, and on Tuesday, the NFL announced that he would not face any discipline from the league, as the accusations came before the draft.

The Arizona Cardinals were expected to pick up a quarterback in this year’s draft, but instead opted to go another route. One reason for that could have been all the trades happening in front of them, as the top three quarterbacks in this draft class were gone by the time they picked at No. 13. General manager Steve Keim said the team did not want to “force” a quarterback pick, and looking back, that was probably the right decision to make.
