Christopher Nolan’s production company, Syncopy, appears to be a producer for Bond 25. According to Syncopy’s IMDB (Internet Movie Database) Pro page, the company has listed Bond 25 among its current projects.

Reports state that inquiries to IMDB have confirmed that the listing is indeed correct.

So, what can be made of this apparent partnership between EON and Syncopy?  It is conceivable that Syncopy is simply providing some financial backing, as it did with Man of Steel and Transcendence. But the speculation, of course, is that Nolan will be directing Bond 25, though no official announcement on that matter has been made. Most of Syncopy’s productions have been Nolan-directed features.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Paul McGuigan may be in line to direct. So there is no shortage of rumors at this point.

Nolan has admitted an affinity for the Bond series, and with Mendes out, the opportunity is there for him to take over as director. However, if Nolan were to come on board, perhaps to direct more than one Bond film, would he also bring in a new James Bond? Some have wondered if a Christopher Nolan / Tom Hardy collaboration is in the works–or have argued that it should be. Hardy will be starring in Nolan’s latest film, Dunkirk, due in theaters this summer.

Hardy had starred in two previous Nolan films: Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, in which he played the villain, Bane. Hardy also co-starred with Daniel Craig in Layer Cake.

Update: Syncopy has been removed from the list of producers on the Bond 25 IMDB Pro page.
