Starting on May 5, 2017, audiences around the United States will be able to see the next chapter in the Guardians of the Galaxy story when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters nationwide.
After an extremely successful first foray into space, it’s no surprise that Marvel cooked up another Guardians film.
Incorporating another Awesome Mix, this one featuring the likes of Electric Light Orchestra, Sweet and Cheap Trick, the film continues the story of Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot while also incorporating new characters.
Ego the Living Planet and Mantis are just two of a number of never before seen faces being introduced in the movie.
The movie seems set for a successful run at the box office, so we’ll certainly be seeing the Guardians again in another movie.
So when will that movie come to theaters?
That would be Avengers: Infinity War, which will be released on May 4, 2018.
The Guardians will join forces with Captain America, Thor and the rest of the Avengers and other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters to face off with Thanos.
Their appearance in the film will come before the next installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy series.
The movie will also incorporate other characters yet to be seen in Avengers films, like Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange. Overall, the film is set to draw in characters from all corners of the MCU.
Brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who directed both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, will helm the film.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who previously wrote the two aforementioned Captain America films, as well as Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor: The Dark World, penned the screenplay.
