With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, when will the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe come out in theaters?

It feels like any time that the latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is released, it’s breaking records. Admittedly part of that is just due to the nature of comic book movies. The source material is so widely known and loved that people flock to see them. However, it also has a great deal to do with the fact that Marvel has done a fantastic job constructing the MCU. If you need an example, look no further than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The second film in the Guardians timeline, Vol. 2 is looking like it could shatter box office records. What’s more, reviews seem to indicate it’s another fantastic movie. With that said, it’s impressive that the Guardians of the Galaxy movies — the first or the second — have succeeded.

In comparison to other Marvel superheroes such as The Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man and so on, Star Lord and the Guardians of the Galaxy are basically unknowns. Prior to the first movie’s release, they weren’t really part of mainstream culture. That’s obviously changed, which speaks to the quality of the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While there’s immense excitement over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it’s hard to deny that the other films in the MCU have just as great of potential because they’re more well known in the mainstream. So even if you enjoy GOTG2, you might still be asking about what’s next for Marvel. Specifically, you might be wondering when the next MCU movie comes out.

Next up on the docket for the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Spiderman: Homecoming, the immensely promising reboot for Spidey. Spiderman: Homecoming is slated to hit theaters on July 7, 2017. That’s good news for everyone as the wait won’t be long until we get more of the MCU in our lives.
