Leonard Fournette was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, and made sure to show some love to his mom right away.
Leonard Fournette was drafted early on in the NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he did what many other rookies across sports do when they get their first big payday: he supported his family.
Fournette, a former LSU running back and the fourth overall pick in the draft by the Jaguars, posted a video on his Twitter account showing the car he purchased for his mom with his rookie contract.
The running back posted the video with the caption “Anything for my moms #Buganation”, showcasing his mother’s reaction to her brand new whip.
His mom can be heard before hugging her son that Fournette “wants me to cry”, as she sees the car with the bow on it for the first time.

Fournette is viewed very highly by his new team, as the Jaguars see him as a player that can help the team win now. Jacksonville’s assistant director of college scouting, Paul Roell, also compared the LSU alum to current New Orleans Saints running back Adrian Peterson, and called him “special.”

“Those guys are special,” Roell told ESPN’s Michael DiRocco. “We just want special playmakers. A game-changer. That is what Leonard Fournette is. You don’t wait to take those guys.”
Fournette is an early favorite to win the NFL’s Rookie of the Year for the upcoming season, and has the potential to be one of the league’s best running backs if he lives up to the hype. If he performs how his higher-ups in Jacksonville predict that he will, he may have the money in a few years to buy everyone in his family a brand new car like his mom’s.
