The Rangers bounced back big with their 4-1 win on Tuesday night, and seem to have figured out the formula to beat the Senators in this series.

The New York Rangers found themselves down 2-0 going into Game 3 at home on Tuesday night, but they seemingly found their form fast against the Ottawa Senators at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers quickly took a 2-0 lead in the first period, one where they outshot the Senators 15-5, and looked like the team we all expected to see out of the gate in this series. The offense was clicking like they did in the first round against the Montreal Canadiens, the defense was consistent, and Henrik Lundqvist was stellar in net again.

Lundqvist’s performance in Game 3 was a huge confidence boost for the same team who gave up six goals and a two-goal lead in a 6-5 double-overtime loss on Saturday on the road. The Rangers goaltender had 26 saves on 27 shots on goal, and looked like the usual leader that New York saw in the earlier games in the postseason.

The Senators still received offense from their shining superstar: Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who scored his sixth goal of the playoffs on Tuesday night after a four-goal performance on Saturday night. The Rangers defense kept him in check

Craig Anderson has had a rough few games in net for the Senators, giving up four goals on 30 shots in Game 3, and giving up five goals in Game 2.

Prediction: Rangers 3, Senators 1

The Rangers really hit their stride in Game 3, and also put on an offensive clinic in Game 2 as well. They’ve figured out what works against Anderson, which not many teams could say this season, and they need to continue their fast pace early and often in Game 4 to hop out to a big lead. Lundqvist will need to continue his performance from Game 3, but I think the Rangers even the series with a win at home in Game 4.
