TNT announced that the 2008 Boston Celtics championship team will have a mini-reunion on Monday’s Area 21, but Ray Allen wasn’t invited.

The 2008 Boston Celtics still hold the award for the pettiest basketball team. Kevin Garnett will be hosting a mini reunion for the 2008 Celtics’ championship team, but of course Ray Allen wasn’t invited to the soiree.

TNT announced that former members of that team will be featured on Garnett’s Area 21 show on TNT this upcoming Monday. The show will have Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, and even Glen “Big Baby” Davis. Davis gets invited but not Allen? Now that’s just a bowl of petty soup!

This comes as no surprise unfortunately as there has been bad blood between the Celtics players of that team and Allen since he left Boston for their rival team at the time, the Miami Heat. Allen went on to help the Miami Heat win a championship, and added even more salt in the wounds of those players. Allen, KG, and Pierce formed one of the first “Big Threes” of the modern day NBA during the 2007-08 season, and took the league by storm for the next five years.

They each won their first NBA championship together, and seemed to form an unbreakable bond at the time. Once Allen left for the Heat though, all of that went out the window. Although Allen played a key role in helping them win a title, they act like Allen was just another player. Paul Pierce even took it to another level when he was critical of Allen and saying he was not really apart of their Big Three.
