Toronto Raptors starting point guard Kyle Lowry will undergo treatment on his injured ankle, but remains questionable to play in Game 3 on Friday night.

The Toronto Raptors are down 2-0 in their best-of-seven series with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Last year, the Raptors managed to win two games against LeBron James and company in the Eastern Conference Finals. Now it doesn’t look all that great for Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and the rest of Canada’s professional basketball team.

This is because Lowry is dealing with a bum ankle after he had to leave Game 2 of the 2017 Eastern Conference Semifinals in Cleveland in the second half. Lowry tweaked it badly after semi-colliding with small forward P.J. Tucker in the paint while getting in position to gather a rebound.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical at Yahoo! Sports, Lowry’s status is still uncertain.

Given that this is the biggest game of the season for the Raptors, look for Lowry to do everything in his power to get on the Toronto hardwood. Just suiting up for the Raptors and playing a few minutes if that’s all he’s got would ignite the Air Canada Centre crowd into a frenzy. This is a difficult place to play and Cleveland isn’t a particularly strong road team this season.

Toronto cannot lose this game, as being down 3-0 to Cleveland heading into Game 4 almost ensures a sweep. The Raptors may not win more than one game in this best-of-seven series, but Game 3 on Friday night is their best shot at getting back in the series.

Keep in mind that Lowry didn’t immediately leave the game for good after hurting his ankle in Game 2. Perhaps the Raptors medical staff wanted to pull him out of a certain blowout loss a bit early to give him that extra bit of time to be ready for Game 3 back at home?
