Billed as the fight for the Pride of Mexico, can you watch the Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight online without pay-per-view?
Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. promises to be one of the biggest fights in boxing of 2017. As the two men head to Las Vegas on Saturday night for their bout to determine who’s the Pride of Mexico — proverbially speaking — fight fans around the world will be watching. It promises to be a huge matchup where most anything could happen.
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the fact that this isn’t the actual fight that everyone is thinking about. As arguably the biggest star in the world, everyone wants to see Canelo go toe-to-toe with GGG. That’s also why Canelo vs. Chavez Jr. is so important, though. If Alvarez is able to secure another victory, it could be the great Triple-G that’s on-deck for him.
That’s obviously one of the reasons to watch, but the fight just one a standard level should also be quite fascinating. We’re talking about 98 total wins in the ring together (48 for Canelo, 50 for Chavez), but also a matchup that presents two very contrasting fighters.
We’ve seen what Canelo is capable of with both great power and speed. However, he’s also just 5-9 and has his shortcomings in terms of reach. That’s why seeing him against the 6-1 Alvarez is so intriguing. Just how much will something like that factor into the fight and the outcome? We don’t know, but it should be great to watch.
As the fight is one pay-per-view, though, many are left wondering how they can watch the fight — just without ponying up for the PPV. Thus, the question is, is it possible to watch Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. without the PPV?
