Golfer Rickie Fowler was in attendance at the 2017 Kentucky Derby and didn’t disappoint with his suit, channeling his inner watermelon

When on the links for the PGA Tour, Rickie Fowler can tear it up. However, the young golfer is also known for his bright clothing choices when on the course. He’s routinely seen in neon colors, be it with his hats, pants, shirts, spikes or a combination of those. The bright orange look is probably the most eye-catching of his looks. Thus, you would expect him to go all out when attending the 2017 Kentucky Derby.

For all of the things that the Kentucky Derby is known for, the clothing might be chief among them. The women in attendance where big, extravagant hats, while many are decked out in spring-time pastels. Amidst all of this, it obviously takes a great deal to stand out from the crowd.

Lucky for Fowler, he didn’t struggle to stick out at all at the 2017 Kentucky Derby. The golfer seemingly channeled his inner watermelon with his choice of suit. From the pastel greens and pinks on his jacket, there were only two places he looked like he belonged: either at Churchill Downs or on a fruit tray:

Even with two other golfers both wearing pastels in their suits, Rickie Fowler is really the only place you can look in that picture. The only thing that’s missing is a pair of pastel pink shoes instead of the blacks he’s actually wearing. Come on, Rickie. Learn how to tie a ridiculously bright outfit together, man.

Though we can poke fun at Fowler for his watermelon-inspired choice of dress, he somehow pulls it off. Maybe that’s his plan on the golf course with the neon orange and all. If he desensitizes us with looks like that, he can wear just about whatever he wants at events like the Kentucky Derby. We’ve all been had.
