It’s been a very long time since the first Crash Bandicoot game was released, and a new graphics comparison video with the N. Sane Trilogy is evidence of this.

With Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy dropping next month, every now and then we get a nice little clip of gameplay. The most recent is actually taking us back to the past to show us how far the series has come. Although they are from the same game, the graphical upgrades are something to behold. It goes to show just how much better video game technology is today.

Back in the ’90s when the first game came out, the performance and the visuals were stunning. You see how dated it is now, though, especially for the current generation of gaming. The Crash Bandicoot series was in dire need of a comeback, and although it isn’t an entirely new game, at the same time, it really is. These upgrades breathe new life into the series and we’re extremely excited to play all three games that come with this new HD collection.

We’ll be able to play Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back and Warped. All three of these games are an absolute blast and truly show where developer Naughty Dog really began.

Naughty Dog hasn’t returned to the 3D platformer genre for years. However, you can see the inspiration in their most recent projects, like the Uncharted series. Vicarious Visions is now in charge of this remastered collection, and based on footage, it’s doing a phenomenal job.

We can’t wait to test out all three of these games ourselves and see just how much better these games are. It’s a great opportunity for longtime fans to return to the series. It’s also an awesome way to introduce a new generation of gamers to an iconic franchise.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy releases on June 30, 2017.
