Taking a look at where the 2017 Europa League final will take place.

The Europa League is nearing the final as both semifinals will play their second legs this week. Manchester United currently sit on a 1-0 aggregate advantage, holding the all important away goal. They beat Celta Vigo narrowly, with the only goal coming off of a beauty of a free-kick from striker Marcus Rashford.

In the other semifinal, Dutch juggernaut lead French side Lyon 4-1 on aggregate after an impressive performance. The Dutch side outclassed Lyon, creating a comfortable lead to go into the second leg with. While Lyon captured an away goal that breathes life into their chances, it is unlikely that Ajax will fall apart.

Thankfully for fans, the Europa League has delivered action packed games throughout the competition. Almost all of the quarterfinal matches were decided by one goal, and many came down to the wire. For example, the second leg of the Manchester United and Anderlecht went into extra-time. United found the winner they needed to advance after several minutes of intense extra-time.

The Europa League has not disappointed to this point, and with a matchup between Manchester United and Ajax on the horizon, it likely won’t. There’s a lot riding on the result for United, who are fifth in the Premier League, and very unlikely to qualify for next season’s Champions League without winning the Europa League. While the English side only have a one goal lead in the semis, their class and the important away goal should see them through. But where will this highly anticipated match be played?
