Jane the Virgin returns with a brand new episode that’s sure to make you feel some type of way. So here’s how you can watch Jane the Virgin online.
This show doesn’t even try to be fair. They just punched us in the face with feelings left and right as Rogelio and Xo took a big step in their relationship, Lina and Jane mended their own and Alba brought up a hot-button issue in today’s America. While the show is no stranger to the topic of immigration (obviously), Jane the Virgin tackled the topic with so much bravery, I shared a few scenes with my own Latin grandmother, who understood Alba’s situation all too well.
But I just can’t decide which relationship made my heart flutter the most last week. Once again, Jaime Camil’s soft speech about how long he’s loved Xo that evolved into a embittered Spanish argument with Alba that then turned into Xo’s proposal had me bawling. Rogelio used to annoy me because I didn’t think he was there for anything but comic relief, but he’s really picked up the slack this season.
And while I’ve missed Diane Guerrero on my screen and am glad for some closure, having to watch her explain to Jane how impossible it was to be sad or happy around someone who just lost their husband was so painful. So well done, but painful. And I’m not even a widow.
I just love these characters so much.
So let’s check out the synopsis for the new episode “Chapter Sixty-Two,” courtesy of TVGuide.
"Jane has a new love life she must learn how to handle. Meanwhile, Petra discovers interesting info about Chuck; Xo and Rogelio are eager to share their news with Jane; and Jane and Rafael must explain their family origins to a curious Mateo."
Mateo’s curiosity was a huge player in the last episode as he wondered why there are people who don’t want Alba to stay in America. As elegantly as possible, Jane the Virgin (the character and the show) took its stance on immigration and explained that America is the sum of its people, and those people come from everywhere, all with the desire to have better opportunities for themselves and their families.
So however they tackle “family origins” should also be poignant.
