Lonzo Ball continued to add to his media headlines. This time Lonzo jumped on a track with DC The Don, rapping over Drake’s “Free Smoke” beat.

As if Lonzo Ball, LaVar Ball, and the Big Baller Brand hadn’t made enough headlines lately, Lonzo decided to try his hand at the rap game. Accompanying DC The Don, Lonzo Ball rapped over the beat of Drake’s “Free Smoke” and he’s not half-bad. Take a listen to the song below (fair warning there is some explicit language).

Apparently Lonzo’s rap name is the same as his new shoes, “ZO2”. Lonzo dropped some quality lines and even a Michael Jordan reference in his official rap debut. The first noteworthy line, “Ballin like I’m sponsored,” references Big Baller Brand’s disputes with brands like Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour.

Secondly, Lonzo states, “In a couple months I’ll be in a mansion with my car clean and my diamonds dancing.” That’s a pretty strong line from a rookie rapper like Lonzo. Although this is Lonzo’s first official debut in a song, he put out a public video of him rapping on twitter almost a year ago. Lonzo did the popular #SoGoneChallenge on Twitter.

So, if Lonzo’s NBA career doesn’t work out for some reason maybe he’ll look to enter the rap scene. However, that’s highly unlikely for such a talented player like him. Lonzo may not be the next rap icon or posses the skills of Damian Lillard, AKA “Dame Dolla”, but he certainly passes the test for a NBA player with a hobby of music.

Lonzo seems to not care what fellow NBA players think about him, as I am sure this will just be more fuel to the fire for the still currently undrafted Ball. Regardless of Lonzo’s failures or success, this song will occasionally be brought up during his basketball career.
