San Francisco Giants team bus breaks down hours after shutout loss to Cincinnati Reds
By Kyle Symes
The 2017 MLB season hasn’t been the best for the San Francisco Giants. Not only were they shut out in Sunday’s series finale against the Cincinnati Reds, they also had to find a new ride to the airport.
Being stuck in traffic and having your vehicle break down is one of the worst feelings in the world. Unfortunately for the San Francisco Giants, that feeling was amplified Sunday evening.
Falling to the Cincinnati Reds by the score of 4-0 in Sunday’s series finale, the Giants were just trying to leave as quickly as they could. The Giants were swept by the NL Central-leading Reds and were outscored 31-5 over the course of the series. It’s tough to find a lower place than that but leave it to the Giants to find out their weekend of misery in Cincinnati was far from over.
The Giants are a woeful 11-21, in the cellar of the NL West and nine games back of the first-place Colorado Rockies. The team has failed to live up to the expectations of a perennial World Series contender and will be without their best pitcher for a few more months.

Considering the level of play fans have watched thus far, some of the responses to Dave Flemming’s tweet were spot on.
The one saving grace for the Giants? They begin a series against a team that is in an even more dire situation than them, the New York Mets. The Mets were also shut out on Sunday, a 7-0 loss to the Miami Marlins and managed to steal all the headlines in baseball with the suspension of Matt Harvey for three games. Considering the Harvey incident and running their ace into the ground, the Giants should be thankful to have someone else to take the bad press off their hands.
Misery loves company and apparently Citi Field as well.
