Gordon Hayward becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer, and Jazz fans showed their appreciation for their star as the team’s season ended Monday.

The Utah Jazz were on the losing end of a sweep from the Golden State Warriors in the conference semifinals, but their biggest loss may have come in their lineup, rather than on the scoreboard.

Gordon Hayward is schedule to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and will have the chance to make some big money somewhere with a new contract. He helped lead the Jazz to the Western Conference semifinals, and fans in Utah are hoping their star returns next season.

The fans are so appreciative of the forward’s efforts in Utah, they chanted for Hayward as he checked out of the game, possibly for the last time in a Jazz uniform.

Hayward threw up the deuces to the fans in attendance for Game 4 as he left the court, either showing his respect for those chanting, or saying goodbye to Utah.

In his postgame press conference, Hayward expressed his happiness for those he played with, and who knows if he’ll be back with the same lineup at the start of next season.

“With everything we fought through,.it says a lot about our character,” Hayward said in the press conference. “We’re fighters and I’m thankful I got to play with these guys.”

The Boston Celtics are among the teams possibly interested in pursuing Hayward this summer, as the team chanted for the star forward in Utah’s trip to Boston a few months ago, much to the chagrin of Celtics forward Jae Crowder.

Time will tell if Hayward wants to stay with the Jazz, but at least he can say he left in the fans’ good graces after the team’s lackluster sweep to end the season.
