There has been a lot of speculation that Florida head coach Jim McElwain was shown in a photo of a naked man humping a dead shark, but he says it’s not him

The college football offseason is the time for many things. Spring practices and games get fans excited about the upcoming season. Then there are also plenty of rumors about many things, players and coaches involved all the same. Of course, it’s also time for the weird underworld of college football to arise out of boredom. You know, things like alleged pictures of Florida Gators head coach Jim McElwain naked and humping a dead shark.

No, I’m not kidding.

At some point in the last week, an overhead picture on a boat showed a man that looks strikingly like McElwain began to surface. Because an assault on your eyes should be voluntary, I’ll simply link to the NSFW (Re: NSFL) picture here so you can see it if you want to. Because people were claiming it was a picture of the Gators head coach, it of course went viral.

However, Jim McElwain was asked about the picture on Tuesday. And shockingly enough, he denies that it’s him in the picture. In fact, he’s quite adamant about it and doesn’t seem to really have time to hear about any questions regarding the photo:

At this point as there’s no proof that it’s McElwain in the picture, we have to take him at his word. However, I’d be remiss to not offer one simple truth. If a picture of you in the buff humping a dead sea animal starts going viral, you’re most definitely going to deny the hell out of it. Just saying.

Even still, we’ll take McElwain at his word for now and say that’s not him in the disturbing picture. Now he can hopefully move on from it and work on things like finding a quarterback who can better the normal 1:2 touchdown-interception ratio we’ve come to know and love from Gators signal-callers.
