Everyone’s favorite Devil is back with “Deceptive Little Parasite.” Here’s your complete recap of Lucifer season 2, episode 15.
Lucifer pours himself another drink while Charlotte explains to Amenadiel that Azrael’s sword would get them home. Lucifer has the blade hidden in his apartment but it’s not flaming. Despite their best efforts, they can’t make the flame ignite.
In a session with Dr. Linda, Linda summarizes the plan for the family to get home. She wants to know what Heaven is like, but Lucifer wants to know how to control his emotions. She suspects that Candy was an attempt to hide something from someone, possibly himself. Until he brings his walls down, she can’t help him.
Maze confronts Chloe because there is no breakfast on the table. She asks if Chloe is okay, but she’s listening to music instead of listening because human emotions make her nauseous. Chloe isn’t over the fact the Lucifer went out and got married like that. It’s still bothering her.
As they head to their next case, Lucifer presents Chloe with her favorite coffee to celebrate that they’re both divorcees. She doesn’t find it funny, which Lucifer takes as a sign that they’re almost back to normal.
Dan is at the crime scene and they see that the victim, Debbie Lang, was the admissions director of a private elementary school on the West Side. Ella says that Debbie was stabbed in the back, and since there was no breaking and entering, that she knew the person who did this to her. A commemorative pair of scissors is missing and looks like the murder weapon.
Chloe and Lucifer go to the school and meet with the director, who says their school is unique in that children learn to control their emotions. Naturally, this captures Lucifer’s interest and he wants to know more. The childrens’ emotions are the prime concern, and they adapt quickly. He explains that the staff practices conflict resolution, and really it’s the parents of people who are denied who pose the greatest stressor. In fact, the altercation took place with Debbie.
The couple who threatened Debbie did say they wanted to kill her. They claim that Debbie said a donation might grease the skids to get their kid into the school, but it wasn’t them. However, Dan comes in with a photo of the murder weapon, found in their poolhouse.
At the club, Lucifer reads his book when three female police officers try to arrest him. Lucifer knows that his mother is behind this. She walks up and says she had been hoping that passion would ignite the flame. He dismisses the girls and his mom says that he doesn’t have kids and can’t understand the importance of home. Not having kids gets his attention, and he leaves.
At Chloe’s house, Lucifer shows up and Chloe tells him that the fingerprints were wiped from the murder weapon but not the blood, and it was left in an unlocked poolhouse. While they said the check cleared, Debbie said it hadn’t, so clearly something is wrong. She thinks someone set this all up. She goes to get Trixie, who is still in her pajamas. Lucifer offers to take Trixie to school, but instead he takes her to the private Starford school for a tour. Of course, Trixie is all too happy to introduce herself as Trixie Morningstar.
Mr. Taylor, the tour guide, takes Lucifer and Trixie through the school. There is a plant-based kitchen. Mr. Taylor is the PE teacher, so he doesn’t know anything about the tours because he’s just filling in. Lucifer wants to know more about emotion control.
Meanwhile, Chloe and Dan find out that the head of the school cashed the check. He wanted to feel more included at the school. But they don’t know that John and Craig really killed her. Mr. Taylor comes in and recognizes Chloe, saying that her daughter is upstairs with her father. When Chloe goes upstairs, Trixie and Lucifer are in the middle of a class about channeling emotions. Trixie reveals that she doesn’t like to talk to her mom because her mom has a scary job and has to worry about so many other people, so she keeps her emotions to herself. Lucifer tells her that’s what it’s like being a parent, too, and Chloe smiles. Lucifer wants to know more about productively channeling emotions so he asks the child next to him about his drawing. The child says he’s drawing a picture of his mom stabbing Debbie.
Outside, Dan gives Chloe the contact information for the mom. She says she’ll talk to Trixie. Trixie says she wants to ride with Lucifer.
When Lucifer gets back to Lux, he’s attacked by a man dressed in black. He pulls out the dagger, but the person pulls the mask off. It’s Charlotte. She has been getting stronger, and he senses that she’s really angry that it hasn’t happened yet.
Chloe tells Dan that she got an invitation for Trixie to join Starford. She thinks that it might be good for Trixie. They go to talk to the boy’s mom, who felt resentful that Debbie didn’t like her for being a single mom who didn’t always bake gluten free items. As it turns out, the boy’s mom has an alibi–she was with Mr. Taylor. She reveals that all of Debbie’s frenemies will be at the grieving gathering.
While Chloe gets ready for the grieving gathering, making sure that her outfit is good enough, Maze asks what she’s doing. Maze tells Chloe that it would be good for Trixie to go to Starford, where she will learn to pick out the vipers and Maze will teach her how to hunt them.
When Chloe arrives at Starford, the lady checking people in pauses when Chloe shows up alone. People look at her. Maze steps in and says Trixie is a handful. Everyone is thrilled that Trixie has two mommies. Chloe is frozen in place when Maze kisses her. Chloe asks what Maze is doing there, and Maze says she might not be good with emotion but she knows not to let her girl go in alone. Sonya, the event coordinator, welcomes Maze and Chloe and is astonished to learn Chloe has a job. When she walks away, Chloe comments that these people don’t seem normal, and Maze points out that they’re all about to blow up. Chloe suggests that they give them something to talk about.
Back at Lux, Amenadiel studies the blade. Lucifer walks in and mistakes Amenadiel’s actions for something else. Amenadiel is upset that all the attention is on Lucifer, and Lucifer points out that Charlotte has been getting stronger and she wants to go home a lot. Amenadiel doesn’t listen, and instead he tells Lucifer to get serious.
Maze tells one of the dads that Chloe is close to making an arrest and that they have the evidence in the car. Suddenly the gossip spreads like wildfire through the room and one of the people, the teacher from the class Trixie sat in on, races outside to break into Chloe’s car. Lucifer intercepts her and lets her into the car. Chloe walks up and he says that Madison is in the car, but when she gets out, she has Chloe’s gun.
Madison tells Lucifer and Chloe to stay back. She fires two shots into the air as a warning as everyone runs outside. She tells Mr. Taylor that it’s his fault. Mr. Taylor is her son’s father. Debbie was going to expose that her son isn’t bright enough for Starford, and that would destroy Madison’s marriage. She freaks out, so Maze tackles her.
Later on, Chloe tucks Trixie in and tells her that she could go to that school if she wants. She learned that the other moms were just as nervous as she was. Trixie says she didn’t like the school anyway.
Lucifer tells Linda that it was impossible to control feelings. She asks if Lucifer if ready to be forthcoming. He reveals that he wants to use the sword to open the gates, but he’s going to slam the door on his mom so that his father and his mother can tear each other apart. It will be punishment for what they did to manipulate him. Linda says the only way to manage the pain is to go through it.

Lucifer tells Amenadiel and Charlotte that he figured it out. He stares at the blade and it catches fire. Lucifer is overcome by emotion, and Amenadiel sees it. When the flame goes out, Charlotte yells at him and Amenadiel intervenes, saying there’s plenty of time. Charlotte gets into the elevator to leave, and when she pulls back the bandage we see that light is escaping from a wound. Her time is almost up.
