The NBA Playoffs, specifically the second round, have been filled with blowouts, and Charles Barkley admitted he is not having any of it.

Charles Barkley has never been one to shy away from sharing his opinion during TNT’s NBA coverage, and he provided an unusual opinion when talking about the playoffs.

The NBA Playoffs have featured one game that’s been decided by less than 10-points in the second round, and that didn’t come until Game 5 of the San Antonio Spurs-Houston Rocket series. Basketball fans complain a lot that the league’s NBA Finals matchup was set before the season even began, with the Golden State Warriors dominating the Western Conference and the Cleveland Cavaliers staying in form in the Eastern Conference.

Barkley said that he wasn’t a fan of the NBA Playoffs at the moment, specifically citing the idea that the Warriors can’t be beat, and admitted he’s turned over to the NHL playoffs at points to avoid the mismatches.

Somehow the idea of a Zamboni came up, which shouldn’t be surprising when Shaquille O’Neal and Barkley are in the same room, and Barkley gave his thoughts on what he’s seen.

“Speaking of a Zamboni, thank God for the NHL Playoffs,” Barkley said. “That’s what I would be watching in the back instead of some of these blowouts.”

The NHL playoffs have a lot going for them, with all of their conference semifinals reaching at least six games, and no top seed surviving past the first round. The Stanley Cup bracket has a stacked lineup of Game 7’s for Wednesday night, and Barkley will have plenty to watch if the NBA lineup turns into a snooze fest.

Maybe once the playoffs reach the NBA Finals, with a possible Cavaliers-Warriors rematch still in the realm of possibility, Barkley’s opinion will change. If not, at least he’ll have some entertaining hockey to watch.
