The Law & Order: SVU detectives question if someone can be hypnotized. Here’s how you can watch season 18, episode 18 live, on TV and online.

This week’s episode of NBC‘s Law & Order: SVU might raise a few eyebrows as the show ventures out into new storylines while it nears the conclusion of its 18th season.

Season 18, episode 18 is called “Spellbound” and involves a woman who tells the SVU detectives she was assaulted by being hypnotized. That’s certainly not something you see on an ordinary cop show. That’s not something we’ve seen since the hypnosis scene at the beginning of Office Space. But here, of course, it’s a device used for something that is in no way funny — and will leave viewers wondering whether or not it could actually happen.

Aside from the premise, this week’s episode of SVU may also pique interest because of its cast of guest stars. Stuart Townsend (Betrayal, Night Stalker) plays the suspect of the week, while Elizabeth Marvel (currently the President on Showtime’s Homeland) is his defense attorney. That means this will definitely be a fun episode for fans of Raul Esparza, who plays ADA Rafael Barba, because he’s got some great people to play off of.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"The SVU investigates a charismatic spiritual healer when a client claims he incapacitated and assaulted her using hypnosis."
